A direct by-product of computer technology's explosive growth in the business environment has been an increasing number of disputes between vendors and their customers. Commentators have estimated that approximately 40% of all Systems fail in some way. Unfortunately the judicial system does not provide an effective method for rapid and cost effective dispute resolution. The rapid pace at which computer technology becomes obsolete together with the fact that such disputes require technical knowledge for their resolution further exacerbates the deficiencies associated with the judicial system. In this Chapter we focus on dispute resolution methods which can serve as alternatives to litigation.
